Presentación de Valoración Múltiple sobre Jorge Luis Borges

The Valoración Múltiple series has been published by Casa de las Américas in Havana since the 1960s. This volume, a co-edition by Casa de las Américas with the Borges Center, is a 445 page book edited by Alfredo Alonso Estenoz at the request of Roberto Fernández Retamar. It includes essays by friends of Borges (Néstor Ibarra and Adolfo Bioy Casares) and a full range of essays by Borges scholars including Ana Máría Barrenechea, Sylvia Molloy, Beatriz Sarlo, Noé Jitrik, Juan José Saer, Daniel Balderston, Iván Almeida, Cristina Parodi, Evelyn Fishburn, Marina Martín, Judith Podlubne, Elisa Calabrese and Bruno Bosteels. Final sections include brief excerpts from such figures as Alfonso Reyes, Pablo Neruda, Roberto Fernánde Retamar, Julio Cortázar and Octavio Paz, and a chronology. In the video Alonso Estenoz describes the book and explains how it came out of conversations with Retamar.
